pretty cool

the bulging mono-ball was nothing less than disturbing... and the sound could have used a bit of volume perhaps, it was hard to make out the singers voice. The song itself though (the melody and what lyrics I could make out) where good :) And the drawings also were nice. :) Tell your friend to write more crazy redneck songs so you can make more crazy cool flashes :)

lmao @ previous review

yeah, the continual misspelling of "their" is a bit frustrating... after the first one I thought it was just a typo and the previous reviewer was being an ass... but by the third or fourth it become blaring... also Taboos not taboo's.

As per the flash itself (ie. the drawings and mythology) it was pretty cool. make more (based on the same campaign even, to keep a theme :) )

excellent work of art

Most of the people on Newgrounds (I'm assuming) are rather young... I'm 30, starting to turn gray and this film made me think of a lot of things... it made me wonder how old I'll be when my own children turn twenty, made me realize that I don't have much time left to start my family. It made me wonder how long my father has left...

I'm not afraid of dieing, but the war is never scary when it's in another country is it? Your flash is a work of art, and I think that (if anyone) the only people that won't be deeply affected by this piece are those who are young enough that death is still just something in movies and retarded stick flashes. I'm impressed. I don't want to give an actual criticism, for this I'm sorry. There are 3 high goals to every art piece, technique, emotion and meaning. I feel that to point out technical things with this would demean the abundant emotion, so I refrain from doing so. Although I can say that I'm happy there was no ideology or theology present, this too would have demeaned and belittled the emotion.

Excellent work! This deserves the front page far more than most that get the honor.

Thanks for the review. There are some technical issues--I know this could be more refined...it was mostly based on the fact that I just wanted to get the piece out inbetween my work so I suppose more time could have gone into it. But I'm glad to see you aren't a stick man fan.

pretty cool

perhaps it's just me, but I can see that Mr.D Firth is having a positive influence on people. That's not to say that I think this was inspired by him, or copying in any way at all, but I'd be surprised if you (the flasher) are not a fan of Firth.

Good job. :)

WOOT!!! DAMMIT Janet (ie. freakboy) I love you!

These drawings were pretty cool... but it wasn't needed since those who have seen the Rocky Horror are easily carried along by the song. :) We seriously need a Rocky Horror collection...

Los-Tres-Hermanos responds:

YAY! Fellow Rocky fan!! A toast to SLUGFly! *throws toast*

that was cool

I liked it :) If I may, a quick suggestion, maybe have the clouds change shape as they float by (and definately not just appearing on screen) and perhaps changing shape more slowly.

make a thread

You've got a nice style of humor... weirdness is where it's at baby. But instead of a menu of shorts you should start connecting your shorts thematically (or with similar characters)... Most of them were hillarious in a too-much-tv sort of way.

:)

wow

I very rarely score 9's and 10's on flashes for people. I fived this and you get a 10 for style (you're an awesome director) and a 9 for sound (your sound effect placements, and mood music placements are great.)

I was quite shocked to discover that this flash contains NONE of the staple retardness that is almost a prerequisite for flash cartoons. Your graphics are below standard but considering the excellence of everything else (and the size of the single project you're undertaking) that's easily forgivable. I especially admired that there was no violence for violence scenes. Most of them had the excellent "hitchcock" suspense style added, I love this. The one criticism I have for this is the voice actors. Not their skill, but there origin. Crystal Lake is in rural United States. Considering that Jason has been in space, Hell and a number of other ridiculous places there's no reason that he couldn't have somehow shown up in Cornwall or Liverpool. It's weird to know they're at Crystal Lake yet hear everyone with a Brit accent.

Excellent job dude, and looking forward to the next one.

great job but...

I'm afraid that I have to rate and judge this one with a much higher standard... Ebola, Foamy and Strongbad (who has never graced the portal as far as I know) are in a different league from the average submissions who are trying to learn the ropes (me for example) and so fall under tighter criticism...

Excellent job :) Were this not from an already established and high quality flashteam you would have scored 10's all across (except violence and interactivity) and I would have definately fiverized you.

Graphics - nice but the truck and especially the crashing through the wall scene were a bit uncomfortable.
Style - Good style... can't say anything about it but don't feel a 10 is in order
Sound - The kids voices were lacking somewhat... Smokey's voice is Smokey's voice and I'm already pretty familiar with it.
Violence - minimal
Interactivity - none, unless there's hidden easter eggs
Humor - Sweet tale of friendship and redemption :) I felt the last gag was a bit too spoonfed and sudden though...

Overall - 8. I come to newgrounds almost hourly, I hope that you keep submitting your new toons here. :D
